Children's Dentistry involves taking care of kids of all ages upto age eighteen. It involves:

Children get their first set of teeth usually by the age two and then loose those teeth as the adult teeth come in. Children need cleanings and checkups every 6 months with the first visit starting at 1 yr of age or as soon as the first tooth comes in. Children are prone to cavities in their baby teeth if the parents don´t adhere to good oral hygiene habits or if they get a lot of sugar in their diet.

Infants and toddlers are prone to baby bottle decay which involves the upper front teeth which decay rapidly if the milk bottle is left in the mouth for long periods of time. The child should be brought in for a checkup starting at an early age so that they get acclimated to the dentist at an early age and develop life long good oral hygiene habits for a beautiful healthy smile.

Prevention with good oral hygiene habits and fluoride treatments goes a long ways in maintaining optimal oral health.
